Often we hear war break out from this or that part of the world, people are up-rising on their own or other people or country and so forth and these events are disturbing to some especially those who love peace and harmony. The cause of darkness and chaos in this human world is grounded and has manifested into all kind of evils from human themselves. Buddhism teaching is all about compassion, peace and the way to leave sufferings. We often think that we are very intelligent and capable perhaps superior than others but in actual fact, we are not. We often mistake the unwholesome deed for the good deed, and despite of this not many of us are interested in doing wholesome thing which accord to the Buddha-Dharma teachings as we claimed being a Buddhist. The activities that bring us into suffering are often misconstrued as the sources of excitement and happiness perhaps the superiority or greater power than others.
In all form of lives, life is difficult because of attachments and it never ends, and the consequent desire (tanha) for form and formless things that are inherently dissatisfying all the times. All kind of sufferings can be ended (Nirvana = cessation of cravings). The way to end suffering is to follow the Eight-fold Path teachings as guidelines and put into practice and cultivation that is how one should understand and relate the mind of him or her and the world. From the perspective of the Lord Buddha-Dharma teachings, the Eightfold Path is the primary essence teaching and one has the possibility to lessen, divert or eradicate the course of one’s Karma to some extent. How far one could lessen, diverts or eradicate the unwholesome karma depends on oneself.
As the Lord Buddha said, ignorance (avijja), or not knowing things as they truly are, is the primary cause of Karma. The Dependent on ignorance arise activities (avijja paccaya samkhara) taught by the Lord Buddha in the Paticca Samuppada (Dependent Origination) explain them clearly. Often associated with ignorance is the ally desire or craving (tanha) and this is the root of Karma that start to manifest into different kind of unwholesomeness, primarily evil thought, deed and action are conditioned by these two causes in the Mundane Path Consciousness. All wholesome or good deeds of a worldling (putthujana) associated with the three wholesome roots of generosity (alobha), goodwill (adosa) and knowledge (amoha), are nevertheless regarded as unwholesome Karma because the two roots of ignorance and craving that are dormant in one are not present.
On the other hand, the moral types of Supramundane Path Consciousness (magga citta) are not regarded as unwholesome Karma as well because they tend to eradicate the two root causes, the ignorance and its ally desire or craving (tanha). In the understanding of Supramundane Path Consciousness (magga citta) is not as same as the Mundane Path Consciousness which desire or craving is also called as 'Unskillful Desire' dominate the mind into the state of delusion and suffering. But in the Supramundane Path Consciousness (magga citta) platform one experience the awareness of one 'Skillful Desire' in cultivation and that is the primary skill to further purify one mind. Written or spoken words alone are not enough and unable to express how efficacious and wonderful these Eightfold Path teachings taught by Lord Buddha himself are, they are simple yet not easy to follow in practice however determination and many practice make reasonable perfection and practice of the this path is the way to achieve that. Good health and Bless.
