Varieties of environmental problems that affect the region of some countries are now more and more and become the international issue. There is only few area of the world that is not affected by the environmental problem. As every country try to improve their economics, people use higher technology in Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries etc. the environment become more decrease.
Most of the problem that affect our world today are Acid Rain, Air Pollution, Global Warming, Hazardous Waste, Ozone Depletion, Smog, Water Pollution, Overpopulation, and Rain Forest Destruction. These are the problems cause by economics development through this last century.
One of the most serious causes of these problems is capitalism. Capitalism is focus on competition which country will become the world largest economy. Now the united state is the world largest economics, china and Japan after trying in competition, china becomes the second largest economy. The other countries like India, France, England, Russia, Germany, Brazil etc. are trying to growth up. The competitions are run on. The environmental problem becomes bigger and bigger.
The economics prediction by 2020, china will become the world largest economy. Those who are lower will grow up. This make every country tries to grow up. They will not care much about environmental problem. Even it is proclaimed by the united nation and other organizations about global warming and other problem. The solution is not much hold by every country. This is the big cause of environmental problem.
Another cause of the problem is natural resources. Natural resources will be lack In the future. The world will fight for getting natural resources. This is why we can see today that the dispute between countries about the land or natural resources is happening.
As mentioned in the Agenda 21, prepared by Freedom 21, Santa Cruz, that “the current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable” is also the main cause of unsustainable and environmental problem.
The materialism of people today to make their standard of life is not sustainable. As the population grow up, if everyone requires high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing etc. more natural resources will be need and it will be not enough to survive.
On the other hand, more industries have developed, more air and water pollution have created. This is the main cause of global warming and other environmental problem.
